FAQs

The introductory call is a relaxed 15-minute conversation where you can tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling and ask any questions you may have. I’ll explain how I work and we can get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. There is no pressure to book a session afterwards.

Sessions offer you space to talk about whatever feels important, at your own pace. You do not need to arrive with a clear plan or know exactly what to say. We may explore what is happening in your life now, experiences from the past, recurring patterns, relationships or the way you feel about yourself. I will listen, ask questions and gently help you make sense of what is coming up.

There is no set number that suits everyone. Some people come with a specific issue and find that a shorter period of counselling is enough, while others value longer-term support. We can discuss what feels right for you and review our work together as we go. You are never committed to attending for a particular length of time.

Yes. What you share in counselling is treated as confidential. There are a small number of circumstances where I may need to share information, such as if there is a serious risk of harm to you or somebody else, concerns about a child or vulnerable person, or where I am legally required to do so. I will explain confidentiality fully before we begin and will aim to speak with you first wherever possible.
As part of ethical practice, I also attend regular clinical supervision. Any client work discussed is anonymised.

Yes. I offer online counselling to adults across the UK. Sessions take place through a secure video platform, meaning you can attend from a private and comfortable space without needing to travel. You will need a reliable internet connection and somewhere you can speak without being overheard.

A standard 50-minute counselling session costs £50. I also offer a limited number of concessionary spaces for those who may find the full fee difficult to manage. Reduced fees can be discussed during the introductory call and are subject to availability.

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will usually be charged at the full session fee, although I understand that genuine emergencies can happen. My full cancellation policy is included in the counselling agreement.
